- Giordano, a surgeon, was the first physician to see Reagan in the emergency room at George Washington University Hospital. He inserted an Argyle No. 36 straight chest tube into Reagan's left hemithorax. He was also one of the physicians who performed diagnostic periotoneal lavage on Reagan.
- Giordano was part of the team that repaired the (popliteal) aneurysms behind the knees of Vice President Cheney on September 24, 2005. He was by then chairman of the Department of Surgery at George Washington University.
